Legal
Terms of use
The rules for using argus.security and the Argus service.
Preliminary version, 2026-10-15. These terms are under legal review. Each community's conditions (price, terms, service levels) are set in its contract, which prevails over this page. The Spanish version (Términos de uso) prevails.
1. Who we are
Argus is a service of [Legal entity name], at [Registered address]. You can write to contacto@argus.security.
2. The service
Argus manages vehicle and visitor access for communities: plate reading for residents and for visitors whose pass carries their plate, QR passes and codes, WhatsApp messages, an app for the guard house and a dashboard for management. The community contracts the service; its residents, guards and managers use it with personal accounts.
3. Accounts
- You join a community only through an invitation from its management.
- Each account is personal. Keep your passwords and codes safe and tell us if you think someone else used your account.
- A community's management can remove an account's access to its site at any time.
4. Acceptable use
- Issue passes only for people you actually expect, and follow your community's rules.
- Don't try to get around the system's security or reach other people's or communities' data.
- Guards record the real reason for every manual opening.
5. The gate and physical safety
Argus connects to the open input of the barrier or gate operator, in parallel with the existing controls. It never leaves the barrier or gate permanently open and never bypasses safety sensors (loops or photo-eyes). The community remains responsible for operating its entrance and for its security staff.
6. Availability
The guard house keeps deciding without internet, using the information it already has. During an outage no new passes can be issued; guards can open manually and record the reason. Each community's availability and support commitments are set in its contract.
7. Data
Personal data is handled as described in the Privacy notice. The community can export its entry log and, when the service ends, ask for its data to be handed over or deleted.
8. Liability
[Limitation-of-liability clause to be defined with counsel.]
9. Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of Mexico. [Jurisdiction to be defined.]
10. Changes
Any change will be published on this page, with its date.
